Junior IT Project Manager

Would you like to develop your project management career and take on overall responsibility to deliver on a group of IT projects? We currently have a vacancy for a Junior IT Project Manager at our site in The Strand - Preston.

You role will involve coordinating work, managing the schedule and progress within a toolset, managing the supplier and liaising closely with the customer; keeping them informed of project status.

This position will provide you the scope to manage a number of smaller projects simultaneously or could be supporting a PM on a larger project. The projects themselves are diverse in range, and would focus on particular portfolio areas such as hosting, networks or EUC.

The successful individual will adhere to internal BAE Systems delivery assurance processes and must be comfortable collaborating across internal teams and roles, in order to fulfil and deliver their group of projects.

Your key responsibilities as a Junior Project Manager:

Adhering to regulatory processes and procedures relevant to the project

 

Managing the delivery of the project to time cost and schedule in accordance with business success criteria and customer satisfaction

 

Managing the delivery of low complexity projects or a work package within a larger project

 

Identifying and managing project level risks, issues, opportunities

 

Preparing and managing realistic project plans and track project changes

 

Project reporting as required by the project assurance framework, PPM, customers and stakeholders

Monitoring costs and resources against agreed budgets Identifying and recording lessons learned

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience of managing small projects, preferably IT

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a team Confidence to challenge the status quo through bold behaviours

Awareness of project Life Cycle Management

Awareness of Project Management operational working practices

Competence with computer-based Project Management tools including MS Projects MSOffice etc.

Formal Project Management training, preferably PRINCE2 Foundation

Educated to degree level or equivalent

You have already had some experience of successful project management and delivery. You build strong collaborative relationships and work well as part of a team. You must be able to demonstrate confidence and the ability to communicate well (oral & written) with stakeholders at all levels.
