A growing company is seeking a 2nd Line IT Helpdesk Technician to join its team based in Shoreham-By-Sea. This role requires you to have a clean driving licence as you will need to attend some client offices. The role requires an experienced IT support engineer/ Technician with well-rounded knowledge and experience of working within an MSP. The established company is an award-winning employer with a long history on providing excellent customer service and technical solutions for over 20 years.As a 2nd Line IT Technician your duties will include:Escalating unresolved tickets.2nd line helpdesk dealing with and fixing client issues either via phone or VPN.Occasionally travelling as some work is field-based.
To be a successful 2nd Line Technician you will have the following skills and experience:
Experience in coordinating IT support for end-users, preferably commercial customers.Good customer awareness, ability to manage customer expectations.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication skills and style, able to explain complex issues to non-technical users.Keen interest in technology and innovation.A good understanding of service supports best practices.Knowledge or experience of some of the following is preferred; Terminal ServerRemote Desktop Services, Firewall Products (Cisco, Astaro, Draytek and others), Sophos, Trend, Symantec, ShadowProtect, VPNs.
Technical requirements for this position are:
Apple OSX Experience would be a benefit but not required Working knowledge of desktop and notebook hardware and componentsWindows Server 2008/2012/2012R2, 2016 SBS 2003/8/11,Microsoft 365Active Directory ManagementDHCP, DNS, Group PoliciesExchange 2007/2010Server hardware knowledgeStrong Networking - including Broadband and Wi-Fi Microsoft desktop OS, PC engineering In return, the 2nd Line IT Technician will receive a salary of £28,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience plus benefits.
