Portfolio Manager

Portfolio Management / Business Change / Programme Management / Project Delivery / PMO

My market leading and award winning client in Warwickshire is looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join their growing Business Change team.

The Portfolio Manager will direct, manage and champion a balanced and strategically aligned portfolio of change activity at divisional level in order to ensure optimal return on investment and alignment to deliver strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities:

*Direct, manage and plan a portfolio of strategic and local business change initiatives at divisional level and continually assess this to ensure the changing needs of the business are considered.

*Influence and agree local change priorities with divisional stakeholders, reviewing in-flight initiatives as appropriate so that the Group Portfolio is planned and prioritised effectively for successful delivery across the organisation.

*Provide direction, guidance and expertise to stakeholders in shaping prospective divisional changes and then throughout the change life cycle to ensure that impacts are understood.

*Actively manage the portfolio at divisional level through the appropriate governance channels ensuring roles, responsibilities and accountabilities are clear and align with organisational practice.

*Address issues and concerns for divisional change initiatives at key governance decision points to ensure successful/seamless delivery of the portfolio and alignment with the Change Governance Framework/ policies & procedures. .

*Continually assess divisional capability/ capacity to deliver change and the feasibility of all divisional initiatives. Resolve issues proactively with stakeholders and drive solutions with the business so that all initiatives are appropriately planned and managed effectively across different parts of the division.

*Build and maintain relationships with business leaders, sponsors and key internal stakeholders, influencing and identifying issues between stakeholder groups and individuals so that divisional portfolio objectives are delivered effectively and risks are minimised.

Key skills and experience:

*Demonstrable portfolio management experience, including resource and budget management, dependency planning, risk and issue management.

*Proven experience of establishing effective relationships with, and influencing, senior stakeholders.

*Experience of working in a regulated environment is desirable.

*Good negotiation skills.

*Proven ability to work well under timeframe pressure, handling multiple tasks/initiatives simultaneously.

*Excellent level of financial and commercial acumen.

*PRINCE2 (or equivalent project management qualification), Management of Portfolios and Managing Successful Programmes are desirable.
