A Central Government Authority are looking to recruit a full time permanent Information Security Manager.The main purpose of the Information Assurance Manager is:Support the stakeholders, information and systems by clearly communicating information assurance (IA) and business continuity (BC) policy, process, guidance.Ensure effective and strategic risk management of information assets and related systems through the application of appropriate policy, process, controls and countermeasures.Provide assurance for the IT corporate governance within the Organisation, ensuring it follows best practice guidelines and is aligned with requirements of the Information Assurance Maturity Model (IAMM)/equivalent, Cyber Essentials, ISO27001 ISMS standards for Information Security Management and ISO22301 Business Continuity Management.The key Responsibilities for the Assurance Manager are:Preparing policies and procedures, written reports, papers, presentations, statistical summaries, strategy documents and other communications as requested.Ensuring that compliance and breaches are appropriately reported and managed. Review, update and articulate policy and procedure changes accordingly.Ensuring compliance with government policy and guidance where appropriate and other appropriate or mandated standards, legislation and regulations, eg: Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulation, PCI DSS.Managing and coordinating the Authority's corporate Information Risk Management (IRM) programme. Liaising with information asset owners to ensure that assets are appropriately classified, reviewed, monitored, protected and controlled in line with our assessed needs.The management and administration of activities associated with the Authority's Information and Security Forum. This is the working group responsible for reviewing, accrediting and updating information and communications technologies standards.Managing information security practices and incidents throughout the Authority. Undertaking IA and BC readiness compliance reviews and audits.Developing and delivering a programme of training to improve internal and external stakeholder awareness of IA and BC.The management and provision of expert IA and BC guidance.Supporting the design, implementation and management of the Authority's information, systems and infrastructure. Supporting the management of outsourced services and suppliers in respect of IA and BC practices and security requirements compliance. Managing the Authority's BC and Disaster Recovery (DR) rehearsal plans to provide the appropriate level of assurance and support for the organisation and ICT stakeholders.If you would be interested in hearing more, please apply below.
