My client is one of the UK's leading gas and electricity supplier , due to large scale growth they are recruiting a Enterprise Data Architect to be based in there Redhill office

This role performs the necessary analysis and design tasks related to the development of the Enterprise Data Architecture. The data architect is responsible for designing, modelling creating, deploying, and managing the organisation's data architecture at the logical and physical levels. In addition, this role is responsible for defining the data architecture process and leading the effective integration of this process with other related business, and IS processes

Core responsibilities of the Data Architect are:

*Designing, developing, managing, and determining how an enterprise's data will be stored and utilized.

*Define the information architecture framework and its constituent artefacts i.e. how the information architecture is to be modelled its views, viewpoints, perspectives, concerns and how its assets are to be catalogued

*Assist the enterprise architecture function define the target enterprise data architecture, vision, strategy, principles, blueprints, patterns and standards

*Demonstrate how data architecture supports both the business strategy and architecture

*Articulate using the data architecture framework, the current information architecture, and its constraints, drivers for change and assessment of that current state.

*Identify strategies for managing structured and unstructured data

ACTIVITIES

*Compiles and maintains the Enterprise Schema across all applications

*Develop strategies for the management of master data

*Enforces principles of good data design

*Create information models for the enterprise that are independent of implementation

*Maintain, define, own and administer the Canonical Data Model

*Maintain, define, own and administer the Business Data Model

*Examine and enforce opportunities to provide data re-use

*Establish policy and technical solutions for the management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data.

*Develop policies for the preservation of strategic data assets independent of technology

*Development of Meta Data assets and policies for their management

*Identify strategic data requirements of an enterprise and design models to make sure such data requirements align with the architecture of the enterprise.
