IT Security Operations Analyst | circa 45,000 | Nr Guildford

Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently seeking an IT Security Operations Analyst for what is a key client; a managed cloud, infrastructure and IT consultancy provider based in Surrey.

The ideal candidate will maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability our clients information; primarily achieved through the identification and response to security events.

This is a fantastic job opportunity whereby you will be reporting to the IT Security Operations Manager, and there is plenty of scope for growth and further development.

THE BASICS:

Operations Analysts who can manage security operational tasks to retain our clients technical security, including the identification and management of external threats - as well as identify, validate and respond to security events, service requests and incidents logged in the Service Desk will be of interest.

As the lead advocate for IT Security, tasked with improving the security and performance of infrastructure / services, drafting and managing processes and procedures, you will create and operate vulnerability scans on internal and external environments. If you can devise, manage, and be responsible for the remediation of vulnerabilities identified wed like to hear from you.

Analysts who can deliver to client expectations and ensure risks are managed whilst providing root cause and forensic analysis of security breaches in a confidential manner, will be sought after.

THE PRE-REQUESITES:

Analysts with an ability to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve security events, coupled with a good level of knowledge in IT and networking fundamentals, (for example; Operating Systems, Directory services, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S) & SMTP) will be sought after.

An ability to combat network attacks; phishing, port scanning, web application attacks, DDoS & lateral movement is vital, as too is experience of working in an operational IT Services environment. Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems, and how to investigate them for signs of compromise and a foundational understanding for Cloud architecture and how an attacker can utilise these platforms is important.

If you have experience in operating and administering various security tools such as vulnerability scanners (Nessus / Tenable), SIEM Tools (Sourcefire / SolarWinds) and logging / auditing tools (SCCM / SecureWorks) wed like to hear from you TODAY.

Other essential attributes include: a hands-on, pro-active approach and a high level of enthusiasm and attention to detail with strong analytical and interpretation and problem-solving skills.

If you have knowledge of Government Security frameworks (PSN, DSP Toolkit, G-Cloud) and of Public / Private Cloud Services (such as: Azure/AWS) and can pass a basic security screening to Baseline Personnel Security Standard check, then please apply today.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and an avid interest in IT Security is vital, and any Information Security qualification such as SSCP, CISSP, CISM will be highly desirable but not a necessity.

Your typical week will consist of 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, worked during the core hours of 08.00 : 18.00. 7.5 hours per day with one hour for lunch.
