We are looking to hire an AWS DevOps experienced professional to join our fast-growing team.
We are a highly successful UK-based Fintech Software vendor focused on cloud-based Order-to-Cash Accounts Receivable suite that enables them to automate processes, reduce costs and improve cash collection efficiencies resulting in increased cash flow.
As a SaaS business our reputation is built on our Clients having access to a stable and accessible platform, this role is key to us to delivering that vision. You will be working closely with our development teams, understanding their requirements, designing solutions to their challenges and delivering those solutions for them primarily within AWS. You will be working in a fast-moving team where your role is to provide the infrastructure that our developers need to allow them to deliver high quality code quickly and securely aligned to our continuous delivery approach.
The Senior DevOps Engineer Role:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for delivering the most efficient, secure, cost effective and high-performance solutions that enable our business to deliver the excellence that our customers expect. The role involves working with multiple development teams as well as some general support to the business overall.
Candidates should come from a DevOps / Operations background with proven in-depth experience of AWS, Linux and programming - preferably using Python. Experience in working closely with Agile development teams is preferable.
One of the most important attributes is a ‘can do' attitude, an ability to look at a problem and design a solution and a real enthusiasm for using the right technology to meet the business needs.
The Senior DevOps Engineer role will include the following responsibilities:
+ Designing and then delivering the AWS infrastructure and systems that the development team require
+ Ensuring the security of the AWS infrastructure
+ Working with the business to fully understand and control costs within the AWS environment.
+ Developing, implementing and operating suitable monitoring systems for the AWS environment
+ Developing maintenance procedures to ensure that the AWS environment is patched and upgraded consistently
+ Supporting the production environment both during office hours and out of hours as required by the business on a rota basis
The ideal Senior DevOps Engineer would have the following experience, skills and passion:
+ Several years hands on experience designing, building and managing AWS infrastructure
+ Experience of working within a SaaS business
+ Experience of working with a continuous delivery approach
+ In depth knowledge and experience of Terraform
+ Strong programming abilities - preferably in Python
+ Experience of designing, writing and building systems using Ansible
+ Deep knowledge of AWS security processes and how to implement them
+ Advanced knowledge and experience working with Linux as a systems administrator
+ Good understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networking
+ Experience of working in an Agile environment engaging with and delivering for a fast-moving development team
+ Ability to explain complex ideas concisely in a way that all levels of the business can understand
+ A proven self-starter who can quickly understand complex issues and develop solutions to those problems.
In addition, the following skills would be highly desirable but not essential:
+ Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket or other source code version control systems
+ Good understanding of open source databases
+ Experience of developing and working with change management processes and procedures
+ Experience of managing and supporting users on cloud-based services
