Real Time Recruitment Solutions https://www.rtrs.co.uk Senior Embedded Software Engineer, High Wycombe, £50k-£60kA new position has arisen for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to be part of a well established company which develops portable instruments that measure liquid flow.
The role requires real-time and embedded software design and development skills. Working within the R and D department to design and support the production of bespoke solutions for a variety of both complex and simple solutions, in a most dynamic and challenging of environments.
Role and Responsibilites
The applicant should have a strong background and knowledge in embedded software development using C/C++. A knowledge of (microprocessor based) electronics is essential, and knowledge in system simulation, code generation and development using operating systems would be a bonus in this role.
Good communication skills as well as having the ability to prioritise, multi task and plan effectively are essential
Knowledge and Skills Required
Full understanding of embedded and real-time systems software design and development and associated issues.Engineering / Computer Science degree or equivalent.Knowledge and understanding of product design / development life cycle from concept through to product support.Exposure to C/C++ programming for microprocessor / microcontrollers with bare-metal and embedded operating systems platforms.Ability to work in a process orientated environment.Knowledge in a number of the following would be advantageous -RTOSsMatlab / SimulinkNetworking / serial protocols (e.g. Ethernet, CAN, RS232, ASI)Design methodologies (e.g. UML)Knowledge of software configuration management and bug tracking tools eg. SVN, Mantis.Digital Signal ProcessingProject / task management including, writing comprehensive documentation.Understanding of design for test philosophy.Understanding of C#, Python or Android development tools would be highly desirable.Reasonable knowledge of electronic hardware and the ability to read circuit diagrams and interpret datasheets.Knowledge in the use of standard debug and test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyser, debuggers, etc).
Salary/Benefits
£50k-£60k dependent on knowledge

Extra day holiday for every year service. Up to 25 years .
