We have an exciting permanent role for a talented Senior Software Developer to join the specialist Business Intelligence team in Edinburgh. The role represents an opportunity join the team that deliver BI to various lines of Royal London business.
The purpose of this role is to design, develop, test and implement efficient BI solutions that meet business and customer requirements. The team is a specialist team with accountabilities to deliver to a number of lines of business via a prioritised backlog, working closely with the business and testers.
What will you be doing
Developing complex solutions within own area of technical expertise.
Carrying out impact assessments of complex changes to existing applications.
Documenting and agreeing design in advance and to agreed standards.
Ensuring all code meets Group standards, guidelines and quality gates for given technology.
Ensuring all code is thoroughly tested to ensure any issues are identified as early as possible, working closely with the test team.
Safely implementing solutions to production environments.
Providing support for BI software items running on the production environment.
Collaborating closely with other members of the team.
Contributing to software development practice by sharing ideas and experience.
Reviewing the work of colleagues with best practice in mind.
What we're looking for
Proficient in technical skills including SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Service, SQL Server Reporting Service.
Extensive experience in developing SSIS package and maintaining Stored Procedure and SSRS Reports.
Ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Delivering solutions to business users using below processes & methodologies:
ETL and Data Integratin
Master Data Management
Data Warehusing
Business Intelligence
Skills that will help you in the role
Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Agile, Tableau
Have experience in building Cubes from an existing Data Source using SQL Server Analysis Service
