This role ideally suits someone from a technical/developer background with exposure to Agile Software delivery and releases, as well as an appetite for leading and developing technical teams and streamlining processes.
What you will be doing
As the leader of the Applications Development Teams, your Squads will be responsible for the 'front-line' delivery of our software products, working alongside Platform Development and Solver Development Squads. Collaborating with Testing, Product Management and wider Technology, this challenging role provides an excellent opportunity to achieve career progression and shape teams in a forward-thinking environment.
You will work closely with the Solution Architect and the Project Delivery Team to ensure projects are delivered as planned, ensuring quality of delivery.
Requirements:
Delivery of Applications Software
Manage the delivery team to meet agreed release targets (quality, scope and time)Track QA and Code quality metrics for process and skills improvementFacilitate planning of applications software with release managerUtilise productivity and velocity metrics to assist planningResourcing and Training
Forecasting staffing needsRecruitment of new staff based on forecastsSkills development and mentoring of staff to fit needsSuccession planning for technical and leadership within software development/QAMust have:
Team lead or managementAgile methods for development and project managementSuccessfully driven organisational/process changeTest-Driven DevelopmentContinuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)Modern OO programming language such as: C# or Java, Python, C++Databases (SQL or NoSQL)Nice to have:
