Who we're looking for


      •     A Technical Architect to play a leading role defining and delivering the architecture for the Private Assets Domain
      •     Who is capable of quickly getting up to speed with multiple technology stacks to formulate the architectural roadmap for a growing business
      •     Who is able to drive the deployment of current technologies and best practice to continuously improve engineering performance and quality of delivery within the Domain
      •     Who is able to balance delivery output with strategic architecture to meet our clients needs


The team 


      •     Private Assets at Schroders is a growth area covering the following businesses: Private Equity, Real Estate, Insurance Linked Securities, Infrastructure Finance, and Private Debt
      •     The team is responsible globally for delivery of technology to Schroders’ Private Assets Domain, providing solution design and development, change delivery, system maintenance, and architectural governance for the technology platforms front to back
      •     We are an agile team using the SAFe framework and a combination of Scrum and Kanban


What you'll need to do


      •     Work with key stakeholders to define and evolve the technology roadmap for Private Assets 
      •     Ensure the engineering integrity of solution development and delivery across the Domain whilst reinforcing a positive culture that promotes learning and teamwork
      •     Evangelise strategic use of data and customer centric solution design thinking across the enterprise
      •     Act as a business partner to Private Assets to translate business needs into best practice solutions
      •     Be at the forefront of change, helping Private Assets to exploit Cloud-based functionality and new technology as appropriate
      •     Work with peers across Asset Management Technology to ensure solutions align and make efficient use of both data and technology
      •     Mentor and coach teams of software developers that develop and design enterprise software products and operating systems
      •     Undertake code reviews, operational reviews and integrity assessments
      •     Review and direct the work of others: a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
      •     Collaborate with technical leads and with them own the overall architecture, design and development of core projects
      •     Inspire and motivate teams to strive for excellence and automation in all deliveries
      •     Grow the next generation of successful technical leaders through hands on mentorship
      •     Boost communication and facilitate feedback between developers and capability leads 
      •     Deliver innovative, simple yet elegant technical solutions built for scale
      •     Refine process and be accountable for team engineering performance and quality
      •     The successful applicant must bring the communication and presentation skills necessary to represent IT to senior stakeholders up to and including the Group Management Committee




 
The knowledge, skills and qualifications we’re looking for 
      •     Experience of design and implementation of robust, scalable technology solutions  
      •     Experience of solutions which utilise components both in the Cloud and on premise   
      •     Experienced in Agile methodologies  
      •     A very strong technical background, knowledge of industry trends, architectural patterns and best practice 
      •     Understanding and capable of modelling different aspects of a solution using industry standards 
      •     Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
      •     Problem solver, comfortable taking the initiative in challenging and ambiguous circumstances
      •     Ability to balance strategic thinking and delivery with pragmatic tactical solutions when required
      •     An understanding of the Private Assets business domain is desirable
