About The Role
At Coventry Building Society we are on an exciting journey and investing in our core IT infrastructure. We are now seeking talented infrastructure managers with a strong hands-on technical background that have already started their own personal journey with cloud technologies, critically in AWS and can bring strong experience of delivering these.
This role is based in a project facing technology team that is responsible for the future delivery and change of IT infrastructure. The solutions we deliver are transitioned to our Service teams to provide future support. We are looking for a person to drive forward, oversee and deliver infrastructure Design in both new and existing technologies being deployed. Your hands-on infrastructure design experience means you will be familiar with implementing design direction and decisions and are comfortable guiding and coaching other technical specialists to ensure consistent quality. You will ensure that designs are delivered to agreed timelines, delivering business requirements and are aligned to strategic infrastructure architecture, roadmaps, standards and policies. You will bring industry aligned skills and knowledge that enable you to inform strategic design solutions and provide technical leadership. Ultimately helping the society to be a fast adopter of tested infrastructure and through greater and efficient usage achieve it's business results.
About You
You will have significant experience in a delivery focused infrastructure solutions or infrastructure development environment at a manager or senior manager level, including experience of infrastructure design governance and execution.
Key role related knowledge:
Conceptual infrastructure detailed design to industry best practices, in:
Public (AWS) and Private Cloud and Compute; including AWS, Cisco UCS and VMWare.
Low level infrastructure design practices, standards and governance
Practical infrastructure automation skills and experience delivering infrastructure-as-code into an AWS and private cloud environment
Industry standard security concepts and best practices within infrastructure design and data security
Public (AWS) and Private Cloud infrastructure environments
Server OS platforms including Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016 and Redhat Linux
