Reading through job adverts can be an often long and arduous process due to the total lack of reader engagement. So with that in mind, rather than boring you to death with a list of 'my client wants, my client needs', I wanted to share a brief snapshot of this role and then leave it up to you as to whether you decide to apply. All I need you to do is read it... deal?Ok then...One of the UK's leading Data Analytics Organisations is going through something of a recruitment drive at the moment and their aim is to enhance their Software Engineering function by recruiting a number of Senior Java Engineers in the coming weeks/months. The reason for hiring is purely growth-driven and these positions offer you the chance to join a business that encourages collaboration and promotes flexibility... so none of that red tape heavy/bureaucratic BS then!As tech companies go, they are pretty good and their Software Engineering function promotes a quality-first approach to product development, encouraging the use of core engineering standards all within an Agile environment. Your role will be to champion said approach, focusing on crafting high-quality scalable solutions whilst at the same time mentoring and coaching both Junior Engineers and Graduate Engineers to ensure that everyone shares the same ethos. From a technical standpoint, the role will be focused on Java technologies with the core stack including Java 8, REST APIs, Angular 1/2, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, MongoDB and React. Moreover, you will help push the use of modern Software Engineering processes (TDD, BDD, DevOps) and will also get involved in elements of Software Architecture using Microservices. In terms of what you need to demonstrate, other than a positive mindset and good work ethic, some (not all don't worry!) of the below would be good:Proven track record working with Java-related technologies including Java 7/8, Java EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate and Maven.Understanding of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and wider processes including TDD, BDD and DevOps.Exposure to front end technologies including JavaScript, Angular, React, HTML5 and Bootstrap.Strong database experience working with technologies including Oracle, MySQL and/or MongoDB.Experience working with AWS (EC2, S2, RDS, IAM) and tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, JIRA and Confluence.Familiarity with REST API development and Web Services (SOAP, JSON).In return, you will benefit from a solid base salary ranging from £60,000 - £70,000 (base) alongside a 10% bonus, 25 days holiday, flexible working hours and a raft of other benefits. They have a great culture (by which I don't mean free coffee as that has nothing to do with culture!) and it is somewhere that is genuinely fun to be.So if you like the sound of this and feel this job ad hasn't been too bad to read then please contact me via the following means:Direct Dial (Office): 0191 338 7540Mobile: 07943721308Email: [email protected]LinkedIn: Liam HaghighatAnything discussed will be confidential and fully compliant with GDPR.
