About The Role

We're right in the middle of a massive technology transformation (did someone say cloud?), so there is an opportunity to get involved in a wide range of technologies ranging from Adobe AEM, .Net (WCF, MVC and some legacy WebForms.. we're working on that though), Middleware (IBM IIB, Datapower, API Connect), Java, SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza to Cognos.

And that's not an exhaustive list either, we've got other technologies available but most importantly, we value your opinion in what we should be doing and where we should be heading. In our Technology Radar sessions, Developers and Architects regularly meet up to discuss tools and technologies we'd like to use to make our lives better.

So what does day to day look like? As well as working with the technologies we mentioned above you'll find yourself taking part in the various daily standups, planning sessions or retrospectives that go on here. You'll work with those around you to build robust solutions. And you'll share that knowledge to help others with their understanding. Plus, you'll take some time to plan and drive your own development. It's an important part of your job so we make sure you have enough time put aside to keep you and those around you on top of the game.

About You

Are you looking for a role in a growing, thriving department where you are not only empowered to learn, but also to challenge and see your efforts ultimately having a tangible impact on both the business and our members?

You will be comfortable with working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

Desirable:

Commercial Java development experience and/or exposure to Groovy, FileNet

About The Company

Whilst we need to support our standard business hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday, we also recognise the importance and value in having the correct work/life balance. We offer flexibility around the standard hours and the ability to work from home as these are key to getting the balance right.

And it's not all work, work, work - everyone is allocated time for personal development and other non-project work.
