One of the largest consultancy's in the UK (you probably know who I am talking about, let's be honest!) is looking to recruit DevOps Engineers (Jnr/Mid/Senior/Lead) to come and join their government and public sector team. The roles are part of an ongoing recruitment drive with a focus on building a strong DevOps team, but importantly a DevOps culture throughout the business. You will be tasked with working on client site with various members of the business to deliver digital solutions on an enterprise level. In terms of the finer details, the role will be focused on breaking down silos through automation and monitoring, which improves both the quality and quantity. As DevOps practices often need a profound cultural shift from corporate bureaucracy, my client proudly empowers employees to innovate and act. DevOps teams are trusted to make decisions without requiring centralised approvals. Which gives you the tools to try new things without the need for management approval. But enough about the company and the role. This, like any good advert, should be about you and what you need to bring to the table in order to progress this application. The two fundamental concepts of DevOps are continuous Integration and continuous delivery. Therefore my client has highlighted the following skills to facilitate CI/CD.Containerisation - Experience working with Docker or Kubernetes is preferred. However if you've used others, get in touch.Public Cloud - A good understanding of cloud and architecting for the cloud, as well as understanding how to best shape the services for delivery. Therefore working with either AWS,Azure and GCP is ideal.Configuration Management Tools - From Puppet to Ansible, if you've used them I want to hear from you.Eager to learn new skills - My client allocates a £15,000 training budget per year to each employee. This will be used for certifications, masterclasses and attending conferences. In return, you will benefit from a competitive base salary (between £25,000 - £95,000) alongside a non-contributory pension (6%), private health care and 1 Day remote work.So if this advert has been short enough to make you think 'I want this job' then why not apply?
