This company help brands make their content accessible through Voice by building apps for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.You will have the opportunity to work on projects with some great Clients, including projects with Amazon and Google themselves.The Alexa and Google Assistant API's are evolving quickly - meaning you'll be constantly upgrading your skills and getting to build things in new ways.You'll play a role building our own direct-to-consumer Voice Apps & Games and well as a set of SaaS tools for the Voice Ecosystem.There are loads of holidays on offer, and a company pension plan to make the most of We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced developer with natural leadership qualities to add value and drive continuous improvement of our technical operations. You will be working closely with the CEO in shaping the technology function within the company and help our current development team in building and maintaining Alexa Skills for our client base. As well as training and mentoring more junior members of the team you should also be prepared to attend client meetings and you will feel comfortable contributing to the project management and design aspects of future projects. Our primary focus currently is developing back-end code which communicates between Alexa/Assistant and the user, so you should be very comfortable with JavaScript and Node.js. You will be able to write clean, reusable and maintainable code, and have a strong understanding of serverless architecture using AWS services such as Lambda. We may also be rebuilding our CMS platform in the near future, so you would potentially be expected to lead that, ideally using a modern web technology such as React. The ideal candidate should be well organized and confident in managing their own workload. RESPONSIBILITIES* Playing an integral part in building and scaling a cohesive technology team.* Developing code for Alexa Skills & Google Actions.* Deploying code to AWS & Google Cloud and other related DevOps tasks. * Reviewing and maintaining existing projects.* Managing ongoing project plans and timelines.* Mentoring and Training Junior Developers* Take briefs from clients and ensure this is feedback to the development team in the correct manner. TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS* 2 - 3 years of professional coding and software development experience.* 2 - 3 Years using Node.JS/JavaScript (ES6).* Ideally will have worked with AWS for a year or more (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 etc.).* React, Redux, Sass and other related web development technologies.* Comfortable with Agile methodologies. Project best practices around code deployment, Github / BitBucket, etc.* Unit/Integration/Functional Testing Bonus:* Google Cloud Platform.* Analytics and CRM knowledge (ie. Google Analytics, etc).* Alexa Skills Kit/Google Actions. DialogFlow, etc* Serverless Framework.
