Assistant Project Manager - Nuclear Construction, EngineeringLocation: Bristol (Travel in Europe required)We are actively looking to secure an Assistant Project Manager to join Experis.Experis Consultancy is a Global entity with a well-established team with over 1000 consultants on assignment across 20 clients globally. We form part of the Manpower group of companies that turn over $20 billion a year collectively.Job PurposeWithin the Multi-disciplinary team, the Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager(s) with the delivery of the works during all project lifecycle phases (design, procurement, manufacturing, delivery, installation, commissioning) within the following task areas:Health, Safety and Environmental managementNuclear Construction Excellence supportDesign Management (deployed through the Supplier, Contract Engineering Leads, and Technical Management and Acceptance teams)Change ManagementQuality Management and reportingSchedule review and progress reportingFinancial assessment, control and budget reportingContract administration support and reportingProcurementRisk and Opportunity management synopsis and reportingStakeholder liaison and influencingProcess improvement.Key responsibilities:Coordinate meetings with key internal and external project stakeholdersCoordinate and attend Multi-Disciplinary Team and Programme Management meetingsAssist with the management of technical meetings and driving resolution of technical issuesTrack and manage documentation (knowledge of PowerBI a bonus);Identify and implement process improvement initiatives and promote continual development of challenging collaborative working behaviours to maintain efficient and effective delivery relationships between Design, Procurement, Pre-construction Planning and Construction teams;Production of Project documentation to successfully deliver the Project scopeDevelop and implement management systems, to support delivery and quality as specified by the Project Controls DepartmentEnsure the wider business arrangements are implemented, as appropriate, within the Programme of works and advise the management team of any necessary actions to ensure thisFacilitate internal communications within the Project Delivery Team and the wider Project teamsProject Management:Support on tasks required to support the Project Manager's delivery of the project scopeLiaise and interface with other key teams on specific tasks to support the principle task of delivery of the project scopeDevelop, implement and provide ongoing support towards the use of management systems, which support delivery and quality of the outputs from the Project Controls Department, including planning and document control processesParticipate and provide support to the Teams with regards to compliance with approved procedures.Ensure that a full and auditable archive of project decisions is maintained to document the project evolution and history.Support the project management functions of the technical work streams to help ensure they are completed on time and on budgetEssential Skills:Masters in a technical field (Elec, Mech, Manufacturing, etc)Implementation of project management and organisational skills, which has been secured by practical experience and a qualification.Excellent written and oral presentation skills, able to communicate effectively and interact with senior managersExceptional ability to build relationships, influence and work collaboratively within complex, internal and external, multidisciplinary groupsBudget analysis and forecastingCommercial awarenessAbility to work well under pressure and within tight timeframesHNC/HND or Degree in an engineering, construction, physics or other related fieldGood knowledge of CDM RegulationsDemonstrable experience of managing projects through the project lifecycleUnderstanding the needs of quality and how quality is assured and controlledDesirable skills:Electrical Engineering backgroundWorking towards Chartership of relevant professional bodyWorking towards Membership of the Association of Project Managers or able to demonstrate an understanding of the APM project management Body of Knowledge principlesExperience of FIDIC and/or NECExperience in the Nuclear IndustryTechnical knowledge of Nuclear Safety Case is beneficial.Key Competencies:Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skillsResults orientatedIT literate: MS Office (Excel), CEMAR and PowerBI.
