The role requires SC Security Clearance.To assist in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support of technical systems to a professional (ITIL certified) standard and to meet user requirements. Provide assistance in maintaining and upgrading technical systems in line with technical projects and aid the support of technical networks and infrastructure.Providing mentoring and knowledge transfer to technical staff and training to usersInstallation, upgrading and support of technical hardware, operating systems, software and peripherals.Provide support of the incident, problem, configuration and change processes which affects the infrastructure.Demonstrate applications to the user(s) initiating roll - out following approval.Day to day network management.Train user(s) on the usage of applications and technical systems as required.Conduct application support - (Bug Fixing) to include investigation and analysis of application issues, replicate issues on test systems and investigate database and/or code to identify faults and produce/ test proposed solutions.Maintenance (Upgrades): Maintain currency with technological advancements and user requirements update, repair, modify and expand existing applications as per user requests in accordance with strategy and by accreditation requirements.Prepare and draft documentation to include User requirements, Application Design, SRDs, RFCs and User manuals.Provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues on software tools and applications.Support of any other technical infrastructure as directed.Resolve incidents in a timely manner.Review RFC's in own section.Build good working relationships with both internal and external partners.Mentor and knowledge transfer to staff.Key Skills / ExperienceIn-depth knowledge of IT hardware, operating systems, virtualized environments and software.In-depth understanding of IT languages, web technologies and software packages.Awareness of new technology and how they can benefit the business.Knowledge of ITIL guidelines.Knowledge of Project guidelines.Knowledge of Storage solutions.Excellent information technology skills in a wide variety of platforms.Analytical skills/ data interpretation skills.Troubleshooting and methodical fault resolution skills.Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.Interpersonal and customer service skills.IP addressing and subnetting (IPv4 & v6) knowledge.Good Knowledge UK Targeted Interception (TI) architectures;Understanding of UK Targeted Interception methods and capability;BIP0008;SPF and IS1 and 2 and GSC.HP SAN - Lefthand P4500 and StoreVirtual;MS Active Directory Certificate services;MS Active Directory Domain services;IIS V7DNS & DHCP ManagementGroup Policy ManagementMS SQL Servers 2008 and 2012;MS Exchange 2010 inc DAG high availability solutionsServer Installation imaging and build;Structure Cabling Installations.Windows Server 2008/R2/2012 R2Windows 10 client OS, deployment, configuration and support.Patch Management
