Software Developer Coventry - £28,655 - £31,464 + BenefitsWe have an exciting opportunity with one of our high profile government clients based in Coventry, West Midlands. You will be part of a new dynamic digital team who are wholly focussed on developing digital services for customers and front line staff.The software developer designs, runs and improves software that meets user needs. They are responsible for writing clean, secure code following a test-driven approach. They create code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse. Role Responsibilities:Develop software to meet user needsFollow best practice guidelines and help to improve those guidelinesWrite clean, secure and well-tested codeCoach and mentor more junior colleaguesOperate the services they build and identify issues in production Experience required:Development process optimisation - identifies and explores opportunities for service and business improvement, determining costs and benefits. Identifies process deficiencies and supports improvement development processes.Uses a modern standard approach throughout automation and testing and provides guidance to others.Use agreed security standards and specifications collaboratively to design, create, test and document new or amended software.Maintains and supports service, carrying out agreed procedures on infrastructure maintenance tasks.Systems design - work with the business and technology stakeholders to create specifications and design systems to meet defined business needs. Explores different approaches to problem solving.Systems integration - able to build and test simple interfaces between systems.User focus - understands evidence-based user needs.
