Job Title: Maintenance EngineerLocation: Southwark, London (SE15 1AL)Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum + benefitsJob Type: Full Time, PermanentHours: 40 hrs per week, Rotating shifts - 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 & 22:00-06:00What you'll do:As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable plant including maintenance and compliance of statutory inspections. You will manage and coordinate the equipment maintenance including planned, breakdowns and overhauls. Daily tasks will include the completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities on equipment such as optical sorters, horizontal balers, and magnetic separators in order to minimise the risk of equipment failure. You will also be required to coordinate with both maintenance and operational staff to remedy instances of equipment breakdowns to secure plant availability and efficiency. In addition, you will also be required to report on material usage, monitor stock levels, and order spare parts from suppliers if necessary.Where you'll work You will be based in the flagship Integrated Waste Management Facility in Southwark, an innovative site which treats over 200,000 tonnes of recycling and waste every year, providing green products and energy, and saving precious natural resources. The site supports one of the company's key local authority recycling and waste contracts in South London.The experience you will needThe successful candidate will possess a City & Guilds Advanced craft in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, have a strong understanding of maintenance strategy and have knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) procedures. You will be conversant with material handling equipment, preferably within the recycling environment.You will ideally have experience with conveyors, baling equipment, low voltage equipment, motors, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology.You'll also need experience in mechanical space, gearboxes, and motors, including conveyor systems or welding of any kind. You must be level 3 qualified in mechanical engineering, plus a limited electrical ticket to disconnect and reconnect existing electrical items such as motors.
