Backend Developer London to £90k

Backend Developer / Java Developer (Java 8 AWS Kotlin DevOps). Would you like to work for a well backed, successful FinTech start-up, take ownership and work with the latest technology on Greenfield projects whilst collaborating with a small team of engineers and finance experts where you can make a real difference?

As a Backend Developer you will build, maintain and help shape the production services, open source libraries and APIs and get involved with prototyping potential new functionality, liaising with clients to iterate on product developments. You'll work across the full development lifecycle, take ownership and see the results of your work quickly. There's a modern technology stack with IaC including AWS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, KMS and Terraform on the infrastructure side with Java 8, Maven and Kotlin on the backend and TypeScript, Angular 5 on the front end.

Requirements:

Strong core Java backend development experience, including a broad understanding of the Java foundations, memory model, common frameworks and APIs

Strong AWS experience

Experience in a finance environment

Thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as Object Orientated Design, Data Structures, Algorithms, Concurrency

Logical mind with excellent problem solving skills, enjoy a technical challenge

Collaborative, keen to learn and share knowledge with others

Genuine passion for technology and a desire to work in a start-up
