Do you have experience and specialist knowledge of Water Infrastructure?Are you interested in a new contract as Senior Mechanical Design engineer in the South West? I am working with a client who provides comprehensive in-house design, manufacture and installation services within the water and waste industry.THE ROLEGaining client requirements and creating specifications for projects; creating solutions.Working alongside the Project Manager and Design Manager to ensure that the designs of projects are running to client requirements and are compliant with regulations.To produce designs in accordance with the design specificationTo ensure the integrity of the design through:technical design calculationsmaterial research and awareness of modern production techniquescost effectivenessTo produce all necessary production and assembly drawings, using 2D and 3D design systems and softwareTo be aware of the necessary standards relating to the environment.Undertake site and client visits as requiredCommunicating accurately with other stakeholders throughout the project from concept through to completion.Liaising with the end client to ensure that they have a full understanding of the progress of the project.Mentoring Apprentices and Graduates within the Design departmentLook for inefficiencies and potential cost savings whilst maintaining compliance.To maintain tight control of actual hours and costs booked to you projects, highlighting any expected additional costs or hours as soon as possibleTo maintain and circulate Design logs throughout the projects as a discrepancy or delay is identifiedEnsure requests for RFIs are kept up to date at regular intervals and recipients chased as necessaryWorking with suppliers to find products suitable for application - instructing orders to be placed on high value itemsProviding technical support to members of the Delivery, Estimation and Commercial teamsProducing design risk assessmentsPerforming traditional "tape" and LIDAR surveysAttending / chairing HAZOP / OPMAN meetingsTo ensure all designs are created according to safety regulationsIf this role sound interesting to you please send an up to date CV as soon as possibleTHIS ROLE DOES NOT SUPPORT VISA APPLICATIONS - YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK To find out more about Huxley Engineering, please visit www.huxleyengineering.comHuxley Engineering, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy | Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 England and Wales
