JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Business Analyst / IT Project Manager with significant exposure to Business Analysis, Project Management, Service Management and Business Improvement techniques within an IS / IT environment.
Working as the Business Analyst / IT Project Manager you will help design and deliver a revised National Data Repository as a primary deliverable in the development of the Company's Digital Platform.
As the Business Analyst / IT Project Manager, you will analyse the National Data Repository's digital requirements for systems of record and insight, map existing workflows, practices, requirements and dependencies on other Company and industry systems and processes.
Working in frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders you will identify new requirements of the National Data Repository and will work with the internal National Data Repository team and the Information Services team to evaluate their benefits and devise options for their inclusion in the future technical design.
DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Business Analyst / IT Project Manager:
Act as a bridge and conduit between the Stakeholder groups and the programme, identify and frame opportunities to support, sustain and improve business processes by applying IT and IM solutions
Actively seek new opportunities for the National Data Repository to add value
Establish the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, validating and justifying business needs, conducting feasibility studies, producing high level and detailed business models, preparing business cases, taking into account the implications of change on the organisation and all stakeholders
Contribute to planning and delivering the management of internal and external change brought about through transformation of National Data Repository technology and process and organisational changes
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Establish credibility by demonstrating an understanding of the core strategic priorities for the National Data Repository, ensuring targets that form part of the delivery programme are aligned with published commitments
Build and maintain a strong understanding of internal National Data Repository responsibilities and processes and related IM policy and practice. Make sure appropriate information and data assets, applications and tools are considered and that fit-for-purpose processes are designed to support them
Capture new aspirations, expectations and requirements from stakeholders for consideration by the programme. Define objectives, benefits and costs, define scope to secure programme support and funding, and initiate projects accordingly
Work with external stakeholders, National Data Repository, Open Data Centre and Energy Portal users to elicit and assess feedback for the services and applications provided, identifying areas for potential enhancement
Maintain awareness of each workstream of the project programme, contributing as necessary to ensure projects are executed according to agreed standards and processes. Support Project Managers with guidance, advice and practical help as required
Ensure all aspects of information systems are fully documented including application architecture, data architecture, security cases, design documents, business impact assessments, technical infrastructure, support documents, user guides and commercial documents. Maintain documentation and standards to ensure they correctly reflect the operational landscape and remain evergreen
Assist with the development and maintenance of an applications catalogue defining the portfolio of products and suites used across the National Data Repository service
Adhere to the IS Change Management process, ensuring changes affecting the business are communicated effectively. Liaise with IS colleagues to successfully plan and execute changes
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
Previous experience in IS/IT, with significant exposure to Business Analysis, Project Management, Service Management and Business Improvement techniques
Experience in data modelling - either in developing or identifying an existing data model as fit-for-purpose to a solutions functional requirements and performance
Knowledge of methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases and commercial documents such as Requests for Proposals, Invitations to Tender and Statements of Requirements
Knowledge of industry standards for data types in scope of regulations for retention and disclosure of Information and Samples
Able to speak fluently on all aspects of work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and in public forums
Desirable
BSc Computing Science or similar
Agile Project Management certification or equivalent qualification
Experience of working with a broad range of "non-IT" stakeholder groups
Oil and gas industry experience and business knowledge
