Software Developer (Senior)Software Developer, Full Stack, C#, .NET, JavaScript, TTD, Agile Coventry - £35,497 - £39,114 + BenefitsWe have an exciting opportunity with one of our high profile government clients based in Coventry, West Midlands. You will be part of a new dynamic digital team who are wholly focussed on developing digital services for customers and front line staff.We are looking for senior software developers who can work across a range of projects with focus on developing the team in which you work in, ensuring they have enough support and resources. You will ensure you deliver high quality code in line with project goals and delivery cycles. Above all, you will want to make government better, which may sometimes involve challenging the status quo. Working in a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of digital projects, you will use agile methodologies like pair programming and Test Driven Development (TDD). Role Responsibilities:Play a lead role in the delivery of online forms development projects guiding the ways in which the team works and improving software development practices within the team.Manage a portfolio of live business applications, includes 2nd line support is managed as per SLAs.Collaborate with the team and other stakeholders to achieve successful delivery of high quality software products.Work with test and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the life cycle.Share knowledge of tools and techniques with your wider team, both developers and non-developers.Act as a digital ambassador across government, supporting recruitment, identifying good practices to adopt and sharing experiences, e.g. through blog posts, tech talks at conferences etc. Experience required:Expert coding skills in any of C#, SQL, Oracle Policy Automation (OPA) and/or Achieve Forms and/or other software coding practices such as .NET/Java/JavaScript and/or CRM DynamicsExperience of managing a development team ensuring all developers on the team conform to good software practice and are producing high quality well tested softwareExperience of mentoring teams in order to grow their technical skills and create development opportunitiesAn ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.Ability to quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques. Experience of Agile development, software patterns, continuous integrating, test driven and version control.Experience of advising on the right way to apply standards and methods, ensuring compliance, and maintaining technical responsibility for all the stages and iterations of a software development project. Providing technical advice to stakeholders and setting the team-based standards for programming tools and techniques.Ability to coordinate build activities across systems and understands how to undertake and support integration testing activities.Experience of implementation toolkits and APIs for purposes such as integration, performance optimisation, security and scalability.
