My client is a market leading bank based in Canary Wharf who are recruiting for a Cloud Automation Engineer and looking to pay between £650 and £680 a day on a six month contract.

Cloud Automation Engineer

As part of the Cloud Services Team you will be part of a culture that pushes innovation, automation and promotes creativity for engineers. As a cloud engineer you will be working with a team that has a passion for infrastructure cloud related technologies. The work involves designing and prototyping iteratively alongside our Application Development (AppDev) teams. The end product has to be robust, functional, flexible, high quality, allows for innovation and empowers our AppDev teams to deliver solutions quickly to our businesses.

We are looking for someone that is open to learning new technologies, likes to teach and learn from others, thinks automation first and subscribes to DevOps principles.

The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions to our internal customers, and will focus on collaborative wins with an emphasis on iterative value delivery

CTO Hosting Services

HDCS is an internal hosting provider within my clients and there customers business units. HDCS is responsible for a cutting edge private cloud platform which has been rolled out across EMEA, APAC, CH, AM and running close to fifteen thousand virtual machines. DBaaS, CaaS and Public Cloud are the big projects for this year and lots of self-service will be developed for our customers.

Key responsibilities

*Responsible for the strategic management of our Cloud, Devops, Sevice delivery and integration teams

*Drive consensus within engineering teams, Product managers and Techincal Domain Architects

*Responsible for managing all technical aspects that enable successful building, deploying and testing of software

*Experience with DevOps models, CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and configuration mgmt such as Puppet, Salt, Satellite or Ansible.

*Development experience in JavaScript, Python, Ruby or any other scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl, Bash).

*Team player with strong problem solving (RCA / Documentation) skills

*Strong communication skills

*Experience with working with global teams

*Bachelor Degree in Computer information technology or equivalent

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

Experience;

*Working in Agile (Scrum) Teams.

*Using Cloud Management Platform on VMware vRealize Automation and VMware vRealize Orchestrator, specifically blueprint and automation workflows.

With Cloud Foundry or OpenShift (Kubernetes) preferred, and solid understanding of Docker & LXC and applicable use cases.

With Azure services (such as AKS, Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Scale Sets, Virtual Network, Gateways, Traffic Manager)

Using Linux, Windows and or ESX with strong background in network, security, storage and DNS.
