We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Colleague and Specialist Services Technician to join our Compute Team within Asset and Invoice Finance (A&IF) IT Services. We're the dedicated Group CIO function responsible for running the specialist IT systems located in our datacentres in Banbury. We're a friendly and knowledgeable team who are keen on sharing skills and learning new technologies as they come on board and get to work with industry-leading partners.

What's involved?

Daily involvement in service accountability, involvement and contributing to the resolution of support needs. As well as ensuring the groups CMDB and other service tools are up to date.

You'll work on some projects that alter the design and development of A&IF hosting infrastructure.

You'll be working across a wide range our technologies primary being Windows 7, System Centre and Application packaging across a Windows Server Estate, and additionally support technologies such as Citrix and Office products

You'll support the strategy for A&IF Compute platforms which aligns and supports the direction of Enterprise Technology Services by supporting your manager in the delivery of projects and initiatives in the 1-3 year plans to achieve that strategy.

What are we looking for in your skills?

A requirement of 2nd line technical support experience, with good level focus on problem management.

With enterprise-scale experience you'll demonstrate a structured approach to delivery with a focus on mitigating risks and safe delivery.

You'll possess knowledge of either System Centre or hands-on experience with Application packaging and deployment.

A working knowledge of Windows Servers is required.

It would be helpful being familiar understand ITIL principles.

A Microsoft or Citrix certificate to show an accredited level of competency in these areas would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Any experience working within or alongside Agile teams would be highly desirable

And what about you personally?

You'll have strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and get on with a wide variety of people at varying levels of seniority.

Confidence in making recommendations and innovating to help define the direction of strategies, roadmaps and plans for technologies.

You'll evidence a successful background in a similar role a relevant amount of experience delivering IT infrastructure solutions and technologies.
