Network Design & Implementation Engineer (SC Cleared)

Working within a secure network environment alongside other Network Engineers in order to provide consultancy, architectural solution design and carry out implementation activities as part of major project deliveries. Working closely with project teams on a variety of projects taking information from initial customer proposals/specifications and turning them into completed design documentation. Implement configuration changes across the different types of network devices deployed across the client estate based on approved design documentation and overarching architectural guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:Network Discovery and Investigation.Creation of Network Designs.Production of implementation steps.Implementation activities based on approved and scheduled changes, including outside of normal office hours.Ensure allocated Network work requests are kept up to date.Liaise and work with project contacts directly if required.Attend project review/technical meetings and represent the Design & Implementation part of the organisation.Deliver to challenging timescales.Share and pass on knowledge/experience of relevant networking products/services/technologies.Plan and coordinate activities, engaging with other stakeholders to manage and implement a programme.

Desirable Key Skills:Have an understanding of most of the following network technologies: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, datacentre LAN, SD networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, network specific security and remote access technologies and approaches.You will be highly motivated, self-starter and able to manage your agreed programme of work with little day to day detailed direction.Ability to work to the finest level of detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will be able to work to highly professional standards.Ability to adapt to a changing workload profile and demonstrate full flexibility of your approach.Work with third-party suppliers.Deliver under significant pressure and to meet challenging deadlines.Adapt to a changing workload profile and demonstrate full flexibility of your approach.Focused on delivering the highest quality output.Understanding of large scale project requirements.Able to work as a member of a wider team.Troubleshoot technical issues and identify the best solution.Demonstrate solid analytical problem solving experience.Absorb levels of detailed technical information and turn that into a clear network design proposals, which you will be able to successfully implement.Able to create both high and low level technical documentation.
