Senior Data Engineer / Architect (AWS Hortonworks Machine Learning). FTSE 250 trading firm is seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Architect to take ownership of a large data transformation from an on premise solution to the Cloud (AWS).

You'll focus on building a common and structured approach to the company's data; assessing how data is stored, shared, accessed, transferred and consumed and recommending a modern Cloud based platform identifying and using the latest technologies / methodologies. You'll communicate your vision across the organisation and coach other Data Architects to achieve the mission.

You will be working in a professional yet informal atmosphere in impressive, City based offices with breakout areas and a range of onsite facilities.

Requirements:

Significant knowledge of Big Data, AWS and Hortonworks

Must have experience on re-platforming to the cloud; AWS - taking a pilot / POC from concept to production

Good knowledge of data streaming / messaging technology, ideally Kafka

Collaborative team member with excellent communication skills including stakeholder management and technical leadership (of other Architects)

Good knowledge of Machine Learning techniques

Experience of Data Management (Governance, Data Modelling)
