Senior Visual Designer (UI/UX) - LONDON - 3 monthsSenior Visual Designer (UI/UX) - LONDON - 3 months The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 3 months contract. The pay rate is £400 per day.The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.Key skills and experienceStrong conceptual thinking and a deep understanding of brandDesire to produce the best visual experiences in the industry, regardless of complexity or channelA solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigationSuccessful portfolio that demonstrates your ability in creating first class designsExperience in designing graphical templates, CSS development, optimising graphics and streaming mediaTechnical skills should include strong Creative Suite skills, PhotoShop, Illustrator, SketchStrong knowledge of responsive design methods, scalable designs and UI frameworksWorking knowledge/understanding of frontend code (or willingness to learn)Advanced skills & demonstrable experience in most of the following:Visual Design, specifically online/digital. Optimising graphical design assets, CSS, cut ups etc. Effective use of colour pallettes and typography to achieve an engaging look and feel.Design Tools/software - including Sketch - to create hi-fi mockups and prototypesInteraction Design techniques to enable usable interfaces and the reuse of modules, components and elements (atomic design)Creation, maintenance and governance of a Pattern Library to ensure consistent reuse of design elementsConcept design & development for new business ideas and/or to demonstrate alternative approachesApplication of Brand guidelines and working with brand to understand photographyClean, simple design to ensure a usable design that is intuitive and engagingQuality assurance through regular sign offs, peer reviews and keeping stakeholders aware of progress / updates/ changes. Key accountabilities of the role include:Translate wireframes, UI Specs, and graphical briefs to prototype or finished designs. Understand design needs and convert it to a digital offering on multiple channels.Support frontend devs with requisite digital assets, CSS, grids etc.Support your assigned agile team by delivering creative solutions to drive the brand and digital experienceAdhere to established design guides and pattern libraries to ensure a consistent look and feel across all channelsUpdate/maintain pattern library as requiredWork with other agile streams and UXers to ensure patterns are reused and stay abreast of new patternsWork with Brand, Marketing and Publication to interpret the branding guidelines into appropriate digital assets and furniture.Ensure all design can be used across all channels. Work tightly with the agile team members to understand the vision for the experience and how to use the design to lift and define the overall user engagement with the responsive site.Delivery and presentation of relevant project deliverables as required by the projects (such as creative briefs, concepts, digital assets, style guides, pattern libraries, CSS etc.)Create design comparisons and graphical templatesWork with the Information Architect(s) to develop early prototypes to test early ideas with customersWork with the other visual designers and other agile streams to evolve the design to achieve a consistent look and feel but evolve it so we remain contemporary.Ensure designs align to brand guidelinesReceptive to feedback, creative criticisms and praise - not precious with designs, develop the ability to rationalise and articulate creative conceptsInvolved in presenting designs to the UX team, project teams and stakeholdersEnsure all deliverables have strong emotive, brand, identity and user-centred design solution
