We are looking for a Developer to work in the Online department within our Head Office in Deeside. As a Developer your responsibilities will be to build and evolve the eCommerce Platform, web applications, web services and APIs of iceland.co.uk. To take ownership of the code (server side and client side) which includes NodeJs, Java, Python, HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the ecommerce platform. The successful Developer will need to work in an Agile environment adhering to SCRUM principles and collaborate with our development partners to implement new functionality and make improvements in order to become an integral part of development of the future eCommerce platform. Our Developers will be keen on Test Driven Development and understand the value of Behavioural Driven Development and will work collaboratively across the department in order to deliver high quality code and rich functionality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with UX designers, visual designers and developers, defining, developing, testing (unit tests, automated tests etc) and documenting all development requirements for the ecommerce Platform.

Adhering to best practices and standards of code control and quality for content work and testing requirements for new developments.

Full stack development including supporting continuous integration.

Documentation and knowledge sharing.

Collaborating (e.g. pair programming) with peers and offering advise and direction where required.

Communicating clearly with other disciplines across the department to ensure clarity and alignment.

Discovering new ways to automate processes.

Peer reviewing of code and suggesting improvements where required.

Demoing work to a wider audience.

Contributing towards estimates and alternate approaches.
