Windows Project Engineer (Outside IR35)

*This person's primary focus will be on addressing a number of Windows 2008 servers via migration to new servers; decommissioning systems and services or in-place upgrades to 2016/2019. Working as part of a project team you will need to liaise with other teams within the IT department, business owners throughout the client and 3rd party suppliers.

*The candidate's role will be to help facilitate the migrations through the provisioning of virtual servers; performing in place upgrades where appropriate; supporting the line of business system installations and helping to troubleshoot issues.

*They will be working with a project manager who will help with business liaison and the scheduling of work. Plus there will be support from other members of the Service Operations (Systems) team to help achieve the goals.

*We would expect candidates to have an excellent knowledge of Windows server operating systems from 2008 to 2019. Knowledge of VMWare and PowerShell will be essential. Excellent customer-facing skills are extremely important in this role as will problem solving skills.

*As part of a systems team supporting c750 Windows Servers, the person will also play a part in the ongoing operational support and management of the environment.
