This isn't just a Senior Software Engineer role specialising in Cloud Technologies. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn and be part of something amazing, right here in the Toon! You'll work with a team of local Sage Pay Tech legends, honing your skills and expertise. And, as you develop and maintain our ecommerce gateway, you'll enable us to move people's money around more effectively, with true security for 24/7 payments that includes security clinics, threat modelling and other brilliant, creative initiatives.
You'll
Mentor a group of junior and graduate Java Engineers, setting the very highest standard for them to emulate
Work with a toolchain that contains all the hallmarks of a leading edge development environment - IntelliJ, Git, Jira, Confluence and Jenkins
Adopt an Agile methodology that employs TDD and pair programming, not to mention AWS operation for new workloads (with all other code and data currently being migrated across)
Deliver code that truly transforms our ability ecommerce gateway and evolves digital payment methodologies to new levels of innovation
The person
We've got some brilliant people here - and of course, we want more of the same. So we'll be looking out for hands-on techies who love the thrill of solving problems. Strong backend Java coding experience proven ability to lead and influence others should go without saying. But our perfect Senior Software Engineer will also be:
SQL adept - a good working knowledge is essential
Experienced in working with CI/CD pipelines
Able to interpret user needs and translate them into brilliantly responsive tech specs and/or code
Highly numerate and with a logical approach to problem solving
A seasoned user of Architecture Best Practices and Patterns (Microservices, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Domain-Driven Design, etc.)
Experienced in using a TDD approach
