Assistant Production Planner

Spring Technology are working in partnership with a market leading FTSE 250 company to recruit an Assistant Production Planner who will be responsible for supporting the Production Planner in driving the development of the production scheduling and performance monitoring processes within the manufacturing department to improve service and reduce costs.

The Company

The Responsibilities

*Run and optimise the production schedule to deliver world class OTIF and customer satisfaction levels.

*Drive the development of the production scheduling and performance monitoring processes within the manufacturing department to improve set-up efficiency and reduce waste.

*Maintain agreed stock levels to support service and reduce / eliminate stock outs. Identify bottlenecks in the production process and work with and through the manufacturing and technical teams to implement projects to raise output.

*Develop, monitor and communicate production KPI's (daily / weekly / monthly), including (but not limited to) Gemba, Operational Scorecards, Production daily KPI's.

*Help identify improvement opportunities in raw material recycling and waste reduction.

*Ensure excellent communications across the business to win support for continuous improvement activities and encourage the adoption of a continuous improvement culture.

The Requirements

Essential:

*You will be able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and planning experience with a proven track record

*Strong attention to detail and a tenacious 'Can Do' attitude

*Ability to work under pressure and in adherence to short deadlines

*Ability to prioritise workloads and capable of multitasking

*Experience of producing & analysing KPI's and delivering regular written and verbal communications

*An understanding of the manufacturing industry

*The ability to gain the confidence and credibility of others

*Excellent use of MS Office

Desirable:

*Experience of planning within the printing, labelling or packaging industry

*Working knowledge of BPCS, Mattec and Preactor systems
