Software Developer (9 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Set up under the Gambling Act 2005, our client is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling. They do this by keeping crime out, protecting children and vulnerable people and ensuring the commercial gambling industry is run fairly and openly and they work with the legal system, the public health system, community groups and the industry itself to understand how they can protect the interests of as many people as possible, as effectively as possible.  

Our client is now looking for a Software Developer to join them on a nine month fixed term contract and support the development and maintenance of their IT systems.

As a Software Developer, you will ensure that software code is high quality, fit for purpose, maintainable, tested and adheres to industry methodology.  

Focusing on the design and development of new and existing applications, you'll be taking personal ownership of a given piece of development work and ensuring the support and guidance you provide resolves issues right through the SDLC.  

Specifically, you will:  

- Make sure that all applications are developed with security in mind  
- Analyse and translate functional requirements into software deliverables  
- Provide support to colleagues  
- Keep up-to-date with changes in the software development industry   

To be considered, you will need:  

- Experience of building scalable server-side cloud-based web applications, ideally Microsoft Azure  
- Previous experience of agile development, software patterns, continuous integration and Test Driven Development (TDD) 
- In-depth knowledge of the C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core and MVC programming languages 
- A strong understanding of front-end web development, such as HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript  

Pragmatic and focused, as a Software Developer, you'll have exceptional problem-solving skills, an unrivalled eye for detail and the ability to prioritise your workload.
