IT Support EngineerMy client is recruiting for a passionate and dedicated IT Support Engineer to be based in Oxfordshire to help them on their journey. They are looking for people who are as ambitious and driven as they are. My client delivers world-class solutions to the most complex environmental challenges facing humankind by partnering with governments, industry and society to pursue and apply cutting edge environmental observation and analysis.The successful candidate will work within the IT Support team which is a team of 7 staff and report direct to the Site Manager. This team is responsible for all IT support for both scientific and administrative staff across all company sites.Duties:Support of Videoconferences and Skype.PC Operating System support: Windows 7 and Windows 10 (Essential)PC build experience and knowledge of PC components.Recording IT issues reported to the IT Service Desk and resolving them or escalating to senior staff where appropriate.Basic networking troubleshooting. (Essential)Advising CEH staff on IT queries.PC application support: Support of Office 365 applications and desktop Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Skills required:You will be able to demonstrate effective IT support skills in a help desk environment and to manage several concurrent tasks, prioritising and escalating as required.Essential technical skills:Working knowledge of Windows 7 and 10 with demonstrable support experience.Data encryption e.g. Microsoft BitLocker.Good awareness of IT security.Project management awareness.Positive, enthusiastic approach to IT.Management of Sophos anti-virus.Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving.You must demonstrate strong communication and time management skills. And you must be able to work within a team and autonomously and have a positive approach to change.
