Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a Support Engineer for a fast growing,niche technology and new client. Our brilliant high growth client specialises in the design and manufacturing of high volume production test systems for all types of Discrete Semiconductors.   Why join? Our client is a small, privately-owned manufacturer of power-discrete semiconductor electronic test systems for production back-end and wafer test. They design, develop, manufacture and support their own line of bespoke products which are installed mainly in South East Asia as well as Europe and the US. They are an Engineering led company based in Surrey.

Who is this for?

This position would suit a competent degree-qualified Electronics Engineer with some industry experience, capable of troubleshooting, fault finding and problem solving complex systems down to component level. The person must be self-starting, confident in front of customers, focussed under pressure and be able to communicate effectively at different levels with the customer's organisation. Being a small company, flexibility in the tasks the candidate would be asked to undertake is expected. An estimated 20% of time would be spent at customer sites overseas, predominantly Malaysia and China. Some weekend travel will be necessary within the role remuneration.


Responsibilities Trouble shooting hardware, firmware, software and systems
Installation of systems at customer sites
Remote customer support via email, conference and by telephone
Customer training, including system operation, applications testing and systems administration
Work with customers from factory-floor production teams through Senior managers
Create and maintain online user guides and training material
Close interaction with Engineering and Sales functions to provide consultation on customer problems and opportunities.
Skills Degree-qualified Electronics engineer with 2+ years work experience
Problem solving and fault finding of electronic equipment from system to component level
Understanding of power semiconductor fundamentals
Able to work alone as well as integrating with a multi-disciplinary team
Able to gain customer confidence by demonstrating competence and technical knowledge
Persuasion skills
Experience with Linux Operating System would be advantageous
As the majority of our customers are overseas, a second language would be advantageous.
