At Dstl, we protect lives. We develop the latest technology to help the Ministry of Defence keep the country safe. Supporting counter terrorism and military operations is an important task. So we constantly push ourselves to deliver novel solutions and ground-breaking technology. Now, we're looking for a talented Computer Scientist to help us deliver technical solutions and push our research further.
Joining our Surveillance Group within the Counter Terrorism & Security Division, you'll get to participate in a whole breadth of projects of national importance. So you'll bring strong knowledge of computer system architectures, networks and security, and have skills to contribute to laboratory testing, analysis and equipment trials.
And, your understanding of computer operating systems (Windows, Linus, Android etc) will help you provide robust scientific evidence and draw conclusions. In fact, your findings and recommendations will influence decision-making across Dstl, so you'll also need to make sure your work is properly documented.
But, more than anything, we're looking for someone with a genuine interest in science and technology paired with the right mindset. Flexible and willing to respond to urgent unplanned requirements, you're comfortable using an experimental and analytical approach to tackle all sorts of technical problems. And this confidence comes from your understanding of computer science, applications and maths. Bringing all of these together, you'll become the unexpected.
