Microsoft Server Engineer required to join the York Head Office of this international professional services organisation. As a Microsoft Server Engineer you will be dealing primarily with Internet and business systems, where you will be involved with building complex server infrastructures in both green and brown field environments.

Key responsibilities of a Microsoft Server Engineer

*Be able to work within a team to build and support complex server, database and cloud infrastructures in both green and brown field environments

*Collaborating with colleagues to quickly and efficiently expedite the resolution of any issues encountered

*Work pro-actively in the management and monitoring of customer environments to prevent issues and outages happening in the first place.

*Be open to ideas and be equally happy to suggest improvements or better ways of doing things.

*Be flexible in your approach to work and be a team player, where everyone pitches in to get the job done.

*Be confident and happy to deal with customers directly.

Key skill of a Microsoft Server Engineer

*Previous experience supporting and maintaining Windows Server 2008 R2 (or later)

*Strong previous experience administering Active Directory 2008 R2 (or later) in an Enterprise Environment

*Experience of supporting other Microsoft Enterprise technologies such as SCCM, SQL Server, Azure in an Enterprise environment would be highly desirable.

*Good understanding of VMware vSphere.

*Experience of Azure and/or AWS would be very beneficial
