Field Engineer / Hardware Support Engineer (Z-Wave Raspberry Pi). Green energy not-for-profit is seeking a technologist to provide support for in-home hardware installations; participate in issue investigations and the deployment of resolutions as well as support the ICT Analyst with hardware and software engineering for Raspberry Pi and Arduino platforms.

The company works with stakeholders across the energy sector (consumers, industry, academia and government) to identify innovation priorities, gaps in the market and overcome barriers to accelerate the decarbonisation of the energy system at the lowest cost.

You'll be joining a friendly, relaxed team based in Central Birmingham (10 minute walk from 3 mainline stations) with excellent views of the City but will also travel to customers' homes nationwide.

Requirements:

*Knowledge of domestic heating and electrical systems; knowledge of smart home sensors and actuators, particularly z-wave devices

*Experience working in an electronics laboratory performing prototype design, assembly (including soldering) and test

*Able to understand complex technical specifications, use that information and translate it into simple communications

*Able to lead and communicate effectively with contractors from a range of disciplines (electricians, plumbers, gas engineers, surveyors)

*Personable with excellent communication skills, you'll be dealing directly with customers in their own homes

*UK driving license preferred
