Lead Software Engineer
Would you like to work as part of a team developing a variety of complex bespoke engineering software applications? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Software Engineer working within the AIR IM&T Engineering Systems Competency Centre (ESCC) based at our site In Warton
As a Lead Software Engineer you will be working on all technical activities involved in the development, maintenance and through life support of the PLM software tools, working to budget, schedule and to the appropriate quality level to enable the business customers to achieve their goals
Your main responsibilities as a Lead Software Engineer will involve:
Provide software development capabilities to support customisation of Teamcenter and integration of Teamcenter with downstream systems
Production and definition of detailed level designs and realisation of this in code
Test and documentation of all developed code
Developing middleware based solutions for downstream PLM data integration
Complete software development activities in line with schedule and quality requirements
Ensuring personal compliance to the Engineering Systems Competency Centre defined software development processes and tools
Delivering continuous improvement through recommending appropriate capability needs and process improvements
Provide support to the Test Team and 3rd Line Support
Your skills and qualifications:
Knowledge and Broad understanding of software engineering technologies and practises with experience in the following;
Java and Java Enterprise. Test Driven programming using Unit
Software development lifecycle
Use of SQL Developer and understanding of the database structures
Ability to analyse problems/bugs/defects etc and propose solutions/fixes/work-arounds
Deliver complex software solutions
Knowledge within the following would be advantageous;
C programming
Software builds approaches
Use of products such as Git, cvs, Netbeans, VMWare, Bugzilla, FileZilla, Putty
Design and documentation approaches using UML, Enterprise Architect, Word, Excel
OO design, patterns (including in particular MVC)
UNIX/Windows scripting (.sh files, .bat files)
Windows OS, UNIX/LINUX/AIX OS.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they are a clear and methodical thinker, you will have a keen eye for detail and will be organised, with the ability to manage your workload effectively. You will be a team player who can prioritise and organise their own workload.

Salary: £37, 654+
