Infrastructure / Applications Support Specialist

As a trusted, approved and preferred recruitment partner to this well-known accounting firm, we have been asked to assist in the recruitment of a contract 'Accounting Software Specialist' to be an internal expert on systems and application suites. You will be a technical lead for the administration, support, implementation and development of all applications and systems throughout the company.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Windows Server OS, core services and Active Directory (AD) as well as experience working with ITIL processes, procedures and toolsets. Good knowledge of server infrastructure technologies is required alongside an understanding of security fundamentals and principles. You will be required to prepare documentation and guidance for others and will also be involved in supplier management (with vendors and resellers).

What You'll Be Doing

-Act as SME and owner of the firm's Systems and Application Suites (escalation point for users)

-Ensuring availability and performance of systems / services

-Administration, Support, Implementation and Development of applications / systems

-Act as technical lead in respect of upgrades to systems

-Contributing to roadmaps for continuous improvement, innovation and evolution

You will be required to look after a portfolio of systems and applications including; MS Windows 10, MS Office, Wolters Kluwer Suite (CCH AA, CCH AP, CCH PT, CCH TA), AlphaTax, AlphaBridge, Sage, QuickBooks, KeyPrime, Farmplan, Star (Payroll Application) and Document Management. (Whilst beneficial there is no requirement for prior experience with these).

Skills and Experience Required

-Knowledge / Support of Windows Server OS, Core Services, and Active Directory

-Knowledge / Experience of ITIL processes, procedures and toolsets

-Good understanding of Security Fundamentals and Principles

-Experience preparing documentation / guidance for others

-Experience in related supplier management, with vendors and resellers

-Service-focused, clear communicator with good team-working skills

-Ability to problem solve, challenge and manage workloads under pressure

-A flexible worker able to cover out of hours and travel to different office locations when required
