My leading client based in central London are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join their team working on Oracle, Postgres, and SQL server databases.The candidate should be a long-standing Oracle professional ideally with experienceoperating Exadata in a production environment.The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to coach peers, and to provide clear,concise instructions.Candidates with exposure to other RDBMS platforms will be looked upon favorably,although Oracle Database skills are paramountIn this role, you will be responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the DatabaseEnvironments. Working closely with support team colleagues to ensure that the associated hardwareresources for the Database environment are configured for optimum performance andavailability.Proactively monitors the database environment to ensure minimum downtimeYou will be responsible for enhancements, maintenance and upgrades to the database environment working with business, architecture, development and technical colleagues to manage andimplement changes.Must have a strong understanding of the architectural and operational complexities of solutions deployed within an Oracle environment with hands-on experience of many of the following technologies

'€¢Performing administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, tuning, support and undertake troubleshooting of the database environments'€¢Capacity Management (proactive housekeeping/archiving)'€¢Managing Backups, Disaster Recovery and High Availability of the database environments'€¢Support software developers with database operations including the support of SQL, creation of stored procedures, etc'€¢Understanding of and adherence to ITIL Change control procedures.'€¢Strong knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Linux, Active Directory, VMWare.'€¢Knowledge of Storage (SAN/NAS/DAS)'€¢Knowledge of clustering & network technologies'€¢Prior experience of managing production Oracle Databases configured using Oracle'€¢Maximum Availability Architecture (RAC, Dataguard, Exadata) ideally with Exadata or Oracle Enterprise Hardware.'€¢Experience providing support for production and non-production environments Knowledge of Continuous Integration (eg.. Ansible, Chef)'€¢Preferably have experience with software lifecycle management of all Oracle hardware components, from component firmware updates to Oracle RDBMS.'€¢Preferably have experience managing Oracle Exadata hardware component failures, such as disk or flash drive failures, configuring storage cell features, functionality, and cell maintenance operations
