Product Engineer

London (Haggerston)

At accuRx, we're on a mission to bring patients and their healthcare teams together, to make patients healthier and the healthcare workforce happier.

Why do we hire 'product' engineers?

We're most interested in engineers who love solving real world problems and building products which are going to have a massive impact. It's why all of our team, including engineers, spend time regularly in GP practices and take 3 hours each month to be on front-line support dealing with real users' queries. We don't mind what languages or frameworks you've used before (in fact, different experiences bring different perspectives to the table) - just that you're willing to learn fast. There's a good explanation of what a Product Engineer is here.

What would I gain from joining accuRx?

Aside from being a major contributor to software which impacts millions, you'll learn alongside our current engineering team. We've gone from being in a handful of GP practices to 1 in 4 in the space of a year and have learnt most of what we know in that time - and we've got big ambitions. We regularly share best practice, talk about recent code changes we've made, and discuss new technologies we might want to adopt.

Where would I fit in the accuRx team?

Currently, we're a small team of developers - 5 including our CTO. This means that a) we're currently one product team and b) you'll be 17% of the team! Getting in at an early stage means that we'll want you to help us shape the rest of the team and mentor other developers that join.

What's the rest of the team like?

Our team is roughly 50:50 business ops and product development. Several of us have a healthcare background but this is by no means a requirement - The thing that brings us together is a drive to make healthcare IT work better for the amazing NHS staff and have fun solving problems along the way.

We closed a Series A of funding - partnering with Atomico and LocalGlobe (two of Europe's top VCs) - to expand the accuRx product and team, so we're confident of our roadmap and the runway we've got to achieve it.

The nitty gritty (process, salary, experience, benefits, tech stack etc.)

Our interview process consists of a phone screen, a take-home test and a half-day on site.

You're likely to have at least three year's experience in professional development however we don't focus on numbers, if you can code and create great products, you're in. Some added bonus points for: both front and back-end experience; experience at a scale-up; experience implementing real-time messaging.

Our salary range is £45,000 - £60,000 for a product engineer. We like to welcome people from a diverse range of backgrounds and always try to be flexible with working hours.
