Cost Management Specialist - QS experience, cost modelling, cost benchmarking, auditing, NEC Contract. We are looking for a Cost Management Specialist to join our team of consultants at Experis. Ideally you will come from Utilities / Construction background. Working on-site with one of our clients you will be responsible for:Responsibilities:Pricing/QSAssess the scope and nature of additional or one-off work or variationsProduce metrics which reflect the scale of workCost work and gain support for or challenge costings/priceProvide costing/pricing options based on scope parametersSupport negotiations or discussions with Partner to achieve optimal priceCost controlProvide cost and commercial control across Partner operations,Carry out cost reporting which delivers comprehensive information on Partner performance.Gain support for cost control and and ensure the importance of unit cost control is fully understood.Provide cost measures and targets for Partner activities to form the basis of forecasting and monitoringEnsure unit costs are managed through reporting, communication and management processesPayments and claimsEnsure payments and claims are within contractProvide challenge to claims for compensation events based on quantitative analysisFacilitate /provide approval of costs for variations, diversions or non-standard connectionsCalculate the annual efficiency incentive mechanism positionBudgetingEstablish budgeting frameworks and manage Partner budgeting processes in line with NG frameworks.Ensure variations to budget are identified, reported and addressed/rectifiedPerformance management systemsDevelop KPIs and a contractual framework for Partners and ensure these are introduced and accepted by the partner as the basis for managing performanceEnsure Partners have the systems, databases and capability to deliver unit cost management in line with reporting and regulatory requirementsEnsure the Partner has robust and effective systems to ensure they can manage performance against contract requirements.BenchmarkingEnsure benchmarking is carried out the results used to ensure NG's arrangements and Partner costs remain competitiveReportingProduce cost and value reports in order to demonstrate that Partner costs are effectively controlled and value enhancedInvestigationInvestigate and audit Partner activities when required in order to provide assurance and demonstrate that regulatory reporting is underpinned by effective cost control.Data criticalityEnsure that cost control activities are based on information/data of the required quality and that audit trails of the required level of definition are available.Requirements:Degree or equivalent in an commercial discipline and relevant commercial/contract experience or equivalent level of experience.Post-degree experience within a regulated industry or Partner arrangementKnowledge of unit cost principles and methodologiesQS experience or training.Cost modelling skillsKnowledge of cost benchmarking and its applicationAuditing skillsUnderstanding of key commercial, regulatory and economic driversAbility to interpret and analyse financial informationNEC Contract experience Details:Location: HinckleyDuration: permanent (consultancy basis)Salary: £55,000 - £60,000Benefits:Contributory pension schemeEnhanced Life Insurance CoverEmployee Assistance ProgramEnhanced Accident Insurance22 days holiday + bank holidaysSick payPlease apply by submitting your CV.
