Job description/Person specification Having recently won a large contract with the MOD to enable the delivery of the next generation of Tactical Communication and Information Systems, we are looking to expand our existing Systems Architecture team to meet the challenge. BATCIS (Battlefield and Tactical Communications & Information Systems) is responsible for the development, fielding and sustainment of a range of tactical CIS equipment and systems used in the joint Land Environment. The BATCIS portfolio includes communications system itself, the application set the Common Battlefield Applications Toolset (ComBAT), and the Information systems.As a recognised market leading expert in Network Communications, QinetiQ will work closely with the MOD as a strategic partner, helping them deliver innovation & enable cutting edge technologies to achieve their goals. The technical lead will play a key role in this. You will work with the MOD's thought leadership teams to provide the knowledge, experience and solutions to allow them to shape the direction of projects. Working with clients at the project inception stage, you will be able to use both your own deep technical knowledge and information gathered from your own research & development to ensure proposals are effectively evaluated and provide a high degree of confidence to Technical and non-technical stakeholders (including senior staff and procurement).
The fit:
The successful candidate will have experience of communications, networks systems and architectures, such as communications systems, information services, IP networks & network security. Having worked on a number of complex technical projects at all stages of the engineering development life cycle, from requirements capture to user acceptance, you will have confidence working directly with clients, providing authoritative expert advice for formulating and de-risking procurement options.
