Wintel Integration Engineer

The role will involve building complex IT systems from build specifications and by using automated deployments via orchestration tools. The role will also require troubleshooting and problem solving skills over a wide range of technologies to integrate the deployment on ruggedized hardware.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Wintel Integration Engineer will involve:

Implementing a ruggedized hardware solution.

Building the hardware environment in accordance with tightly defined requirements.

Installing and testing software infrastructure (VMware Sphere) and applications.

Collaboration with other members of the agile team; sharing knowledge and peer reviewing others work.

Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership.

Producing clear and concise technical documentation.

Using the Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo) to record, document and test work.

Occasional visits to customer sites to support deployment.

As part of the engineering team you will work closely with team members, and support the team and/or project leadership in daily activities. You may also be asked to lead teams.

 

Your skills and qualifications as a Wintel Systems Engineer Integrator:

Competence in:

Windows Server 2012 R2

Active Directory

Windows 10 or Windows 7 Operating Systems

VMware virtualisation

Working in a team designing and integrating in a Wintel environment

Technical documentation production

Desirable skills include:

PowerShell

Atlassian toolset

Working in an Agile development environment.

 

What we're looking for in you:

Self-organisation and good time management

You are innovative and able to drive improvement

You take responsibility for own & team work packages and for delivery

Experience of mentoring more junior staff and leading teams is desirable

Occasional travel may be required

Ideally you have an honours degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant STEM subject, although relevant knowledge and experience may offset the qualification requirements. You will be required to obtain full Security Clearance.

 

Location: Christchurch - A relocation package will be offered with this role

Salary: 33,500 + Dependant on experience
