Staff Test Manager - Compilers

Help to test the compilers and tools that build the code in the world's embedded devices. Are you an experienced and passionate test manager with an interest in low-level software? You will join an established team working on our commercial compiler and toolchain products for embedded devices. Our partners rely on our tools to support their future successes across many markets, including automotive, medical, storage and networking.
Collaborating with your team and colleagues across the company, you will focus on our approach to testing our toolchain products, including the compilers, linkers and libraries. You will guide the wider team through ongoing refinement of Agile processes, drive the test strategy and adopt new tools and techniques. Your role would be crucial to maintaining high levels of quality in the tools our customers use for their Arm devices. Our tools are based on both proprietary and open source technology, and we contribute many changes back to the open-source LLVM projects and there may be opportunities for involvement with testing in the open-source community.

You will lead and improve the testing and quality approach for Arm's commercial toolchain products.
You would support the engineering team in the use of Agile methodologies
You will help to improve quality, for example through investigation and monitoring of escaped issues and root cause analyses, and engaging with wider test and quality initiatives beyond the team.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience of leading the strategy and planning of testing for production-quality software, including requirements assessment for testing, test coverage, metrics, and tools.
Experience of Agile development, and supporting its use across an engineering team.
Dedicated and flexible, someone who is technically versatile, and can learn new skills that you can apply across multiple types of work.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Understanding of the purpose and structure of compilers, assemblers and linkers.
Experience of line management, supporting the development and growth of other engineers through regular reviews and discussion
Experience of contributing to an open-source project and working with an open-source community.
Education & Qualifications
You will need a good degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science / Software Engineering, or an alternative with relevant experience.
