Senior Network Engineer - VMware NSX SD-LANLeeds City Centre, West Yorkshire, UK

Senior Network Engineer - VMware NSX SD-LAN - required by prestigious, global professional services firm, position to be based at their offices in Leeds City Centre.
You will be responsible for the design, implementation and operations of the technical components of the IT Network infrastructure. Heavily involved with both Project and BAU work within the Network domain. The client operates a business critical global network and utilise a mix of traditional and software defined networking technology. They are looking for a forward thinking Senior Network Engineer who is comfortable working across the full network stack. They have an active project to roll out VMware NSX SD-LAN technology, so any experience in this area would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities:
• Manage, monitor and maintain the network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers
• Work with IT Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and members of the global Information Technology team to deliver the network components required to facilitate new initiatives in a timely manner
• Act as the technical design authority for network related changes
• Analyse network security alerts; assess severity and impact, perform root cause analysis, remediate
• Manage patches and upgrades to network infrastructure
• Provide clear and concise audit data and other management information to the IT Security Manager and Internal / External Audit
• Work with third party vendors to maintain the global wide area network
Requirements:
• Thorough understanding networking concepts in the Routing, Switching and Security domain including:
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability
• Network security analysis and design experience
• LAN Technologies: VLAN, Spanning-Tree (CST, RSTP, MST), Inter Vlan Routing, Quality of Service, Layer 2/3 design, FHRP's: HSRP, VRRP, GLBP
• Routing: Static, OSPF, BGP, Redistribution, PBR
• Firewall: NAT, ACL's, Service Inspection, multi context, RADIUS / TACACS, Rule base design, VPN, web application firewalls
• Exposure to technologies including: VMware NSX, Cisco switches and firewalls
Citrix NetScaler load balancers, Imperva WAFs, Solarwinds
• Relevant industry qualifications
• Experience working with an international business in multiple time-zones
