The personal traits we are looking for are:Passion for technologyShowing initiativeSelf-learningBeing a team player, i.e. take ownership of contributing to the overall team capability and knowledgeRole Overview Working within a wider programme, you will be part of a small Delivery Team consisting of a BA, An Application Architect, Developers and Testers. This team will be assigned a number of work packages and be responsible for the full life-cycle design, development, testing and deployment of the application changes.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalysing User Stories/DBRs for validity and feasibilityCollaborate closely with other team members and departments to understand the test requirements and build appropriate test scripts/acceptance criteria.Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, Functional and Regression)Design and develop automation scripts when neededDetect and track software defects and inconsistencies.Apply quality test engineering principals throughout the product lifecycleProvide support and documentation

Key Skills

5 years+ of experience as a Software Tester or similar roleExperience in Mainframe/VME EnvironmentsExperience of testing online/batch COBOL processes.Experience of testing external interfaces and file exchange.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperience in data analysisAbility to work in a virtual, remote delivery team, preferably Agile/Scrum.Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on project outcomesLogical thinker and problem-solving skillsCollaborative Team playerGood time-management skillsGreat interpersonal and communication skillsLocationThis role is predominantly back-office to the client site, so location is flexible.The work will largely be carried out working as part of a remote/virtual team and so it is essential that the candidate has the correct aptitude for remote, productive and collaborative working.There will however be some occasional travel, either to the client's own site (likely Blackpool) for specific meetings or workshops.
