Project Manager - Transportation
Cambridge
£175 - £200 per day
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager within Transportation on behalf of our client based in Cambridge.
Responsibilities:
o Ease congestion and prioritise greener and active travel, making it easier for people to travel by bus, rail, cycle or on foot to improve average journey time
o Keep the Greater Cambridge area well connected to the regional and national transport network, opening up opportunities by working closely with strategic partners
o Build an extensive network of new cycle-ways, directly connecting people to homes, jobs, study and opportunity, across the city and neighbouring villages
o Help make peoples journeys and lives easier by making use of research and investing in cutting-edge technology
o Ensure efficient and value for money procurement strategies are developed, implemented, monitored and reported
o Manage, control and monitor the programme of works.
o Ensure monthly progress reports on expenditure, and bids for funding are prepared and submitted in a timely way
o Manage agreed project budgets within agreed tolerances and proactively identify budget risk and constraints
The key skills and experience required are:
o Proven track record of project management of the delivery of major transport projects
o Ability to manage senior stakeholders in a complex organisational environment including the ability to operate in challenging political environments and excellent written and verbal communications
o Agility to work across different types of transport scheme delivery including road, public transport, sustainable transport and rail.
***********This is initially a 3 month contract role with view to extend for 6 - 12 months
Up to £200 per day - paid Inside IR35 via an umbrella company*****************
